Quick take

A versatile 5 in soft plastic worm suited for Texas, Carolina, and wacky rigs, weighted or weightless.

Best for

  • Bass fishing with jigs or drop-shot rigs
  • Wacky rigging on a single hook
  • Pressured bass on light tackle

Skip if

  • You need a larger bait for big bass
  • You prefer craws or creature baits

Strengths

  • Unique hook slot helps the worm seat properly and hold
  • Tough plastic construction outlasts similar soft plastics
  • Works weighted, weightless, Texas-rigged, or wacky-rigged

Trade-offs

  • Subtle action requires a skilled retrieve
  • Best suited for freshwater bass, not saltwater
  • Hook slot means the worm is not reusable after heavy use

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
